My Exciting Journey into Digital Art

 Hey, fellow wanderers!

I'm Akari, and I'm here to take you on a little creative journey that combines mystery, adventure, and—well—a little bit of me acting foolishly on my phone. I recently experimented with digital art on my Android phone, (yes! On my cellphone! because who needs a tablet when you have zero budget and lots of creativity?) 😂

When you have an idea, Who can stop you....... 😈😆😆

Anyway, this piece was inspired by a reference photo of a volleyball balanced on a fingertip, and I must say that this picture really captivated me. Perhaps the colors' striking contrast or my fascination with things that seem to float in their own mysterious realm were the causes. I couldn't help but give it a try, though.

let me explain the situation for you (look, what I feel there?): This volleyball's deep blue and vivid yellow shadows give it a 3D appearance that almost makes it pop off the screen! It has a cool, almost supernatural feel to it, as if the volleyball itself is hiding secrets while floating in midair and balanced on a fingertip. I needed to get that. This small item seems to contain some ancient wisdom. Or perhaps it simply wants to be dramatic and cool. Who knows? 😏

Let's talk about tools now. Usually , I use the free version of Ibis Paint X. Come-on, We are artists, after all! Since art supplies in the real world are already cost an arm and a leg , who has the money for the expensive art supplies? 🤣 So, here I’m making it work with the free stuff, living that budget artist life and don't you know our true tools are creativity and flexibility, right?

The process? Imagine me hunched over my phone, tapping away with my fingers to achieve the perfect highlight and shadow. Even though this isn't my first attempt at digital art, but this one is different. I adore that mysterious, almost unearthly energy, and I wanted it to draw it. It's like I'm not looking at just a volleyball - I'm looking at an entire vibe. With just one spotlight on the ball, the sound of silence, in an abandoned gym at night, and bam—there’s the magic.

And can I just say, drawing on a phone is a very different beast. Half of the time I zoom in so far that I forget what I'm working on, and then I zoom out like, "Oh yeah, it's a volleyball." 😂 But really, it's worth every little detail. I felt like as I bring this piece to life with just my fingertip—as if I were also balancing my own art on the tip of my finger too. It's an exciting experience.

So yes! Here's to create art on a budget, exploring into mysteries, and letting a little magic flow through our phones. Stay tuned, because there's always more to come from me—whether it's more digital art, a haunted forest scene, or an ocean full of secrets. Who knows. Only me, my phone, and a lot of imagination.

move forward to be curious and creative, and remember that: art is wherever you want it to be.
